Now Director of the American Institute's Silver Theatre and Cultural Center, Murray Horwitz began his career as a clown in the Ringling Brothers Barnum & Bailey Circus. He went on to write and co-write numerous songs and plays, including Ain't Misbehaving, which won an Obie, an Emmy, a Grammy, a Tony, and a New York Drama Critics' Circle Award. Outside the theatre he has written and directed a wide range of events at famous locations (such as the White House) as well as for television networks Universal Pictures, HBO and Fox.
